Like all great camping stories, Cinch! began in a field full of people and mud.

My name is Jake Jackson and I love camping and music festivals. Born and brought up in Lancaster, UK, I’ve been lucky to be surrounded with stunning scenery – from the fells of the Lake District to the estuaries of Morecambe Bay. I love being immersed in it, whether on a bike or on foot – or caked in mud, jumping around to live music at a festival like Kendal Calling. If you’ve got the right equipment, there’s nothing better.

But getting the right equipment is the tricky part. I spent years trying and failing to find a tent that was suitable – working my way through the big brands and their various approaches – but huge flaws were always too apparent. Too heavy; too complicated; too small; no consideration for the smaller touches that can make or break a weekend camping.

So I decided to create a tent myself that would fulfil my own specifications, and those of my friends across the camping community. And so the Cinch! was born. Four years ago I built my first prototype and I’ve produced (and fully sold out of) small runs since then – refining the design each year, with the help of my customers.

This season’s tent is bigger and better than ever with the cool addition of a unique solar power pack, perfect for weekends outdoors and camping at festivals and we can’t wait to get the 2015 model to you.
